Recruitment
Here at HAI, we attract and retain excellent staff who, through their teaching, research and professional support, positively contribute to HAI’s development as an Institution of influence.
A key strength of the Institute is its staff. Attracting and retaining committed and talented staff allows us to fulfil our goals. We encourage our academic staff to play their strengths and ensure that they are rewarded for excellent performance. We develop our own pipeline of new academic talent, and provide clear and rewarding career pathways and professional development. HAI is characterized by strong performance management and enhancement systems. We achieve this through an integrated strategy that addresses recruitment and appointment processes; workload management; academic staff review and planning; and professional development of our staff. We also support our academic and administrative leaders and managers to succeed in increasingly complex and demanding roles. We recognize their strategic contribution to achieving HAI’s goals and to sustaining our personnel. We enhance the performance, learning and well-being of our leaders through proactive professional and organizational development.
General staff are valued for their professional skills and recognized for the major contributions they make to the effective operation and advancement of the Institution. HAI will develop its campuses to create a first class physical environment, and will work to create a culture in which staff will feel a sense of belonging and pride. HAI’s approach emphasizes teamwork, excellence and equity. Our staff will work across discipline and organizational boundaries to achieve great outcomes. We pride ourselves on equity in the workplace, scholarly achievements and our hallmark as an employer of choice.
